2.     Trash Pick-up & Storm Debris - We've contacted Howard Shook's (our city councilman) office to express our concerns over missed trash pick-up and missed recycling pick-up.  We've also asked him to schedule a bulk pick-up for the storm debris.  It is supposed to be next week but we will keep you posted.  Wait times on the City's Customer Service line are over 45 minutes so trying to schedule bulk pick-up for your address could take a while.

3.     Criminal Activity - On Aug 7th, a car was broken into on Peachtree Hills Ave. and  a car window was broken and the resident's wallet stolen.  Its a very real reminder that we never should leave anything of value or even non-valuable in our vehicles.  The more often the criminals find the goods in our neighborhood, the more they will continue to return.  Please be diligent in removing all items from your car (valuable or not) so that no one is tempted to find out if they are worth breaking your window.  If you have the misfortune to have something stol en, see solicitors or something suspicious, please call 911 first and then our security hotline at 404-771-3812.

4.     Peachtree Hills Park Volunteer Inspectors Needed - The City of Atlanta is seeking volunteers to provide regular feedback on the condition of City parks. They are asking residents to do monthly inspections and then complete a 2-page evaluation form. This will help them identify and correct issues (e.g., graffiti, trash). What's involved - you walk through the park, forms in hand and document your observations. Based on July's evaluation, it takes about 30 minutes total. I f you would like to conduct an inspection of Peachtree Hills Park in August, please contact Betty Hanacek at bhanacek@bellsouth.net. 

5.     Baby Sitters/Pet Sitters/Contractors Referral Page on Website - We're bringing this popular page back to the Peachtree Hills website!!!   If you're a PHCA member or a child of a member, and have a service to offer, such as computer repair, lawn care, pet sitting, baby sitting, carpentry and would like to be listed here, please send an email to the webmaster (ron_loines@bellsouth.net) with your name, the service(s) y ou provide, and how to contact you.

• type(s) of services provided

• comments about the quality,  timeliness & and/or value of the service

6.     Save the Date - PHCA Annual Membership Meeting - Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 7-9:00 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Make plans now to attend our annual meeting where we elect our officers, give a financial report of the association, and discuss upcoming events and issues. 

7.     Website Password & Log-in - We continue to welcome new PHCA members for 2008-09.  In case you have not logged in yet, weve included your individual password & log-in for www.peachtreehills.org at the bottom of this email.  Members have access to information in the members-only portion of the website.  You can maintain your per sonal information on the website in the address book, access our calendars, post your pets photo, view photos from past events, and much more.  Ron Loines is our webmaster.  Please contact him if you have any questions or problems logging in to the site at ron_loines@bellsouth.net.

9.     Home Vacation Checks for Members - PHCA members can request a home check from our security of ficers while they are on vacation this summer.  Please call the Security Hotline at 404-771-3812 to request your Vacation Check.
